Christmas in Colorado! :)

Yes, I know it is January 22 and I am now JUST posting Christmas pictures! :) I have apparently failed at one of my New Year's Resolutions of keeping up with the blog in a more timely fashion! I really cannot blame it on having two kids anymore since I have pretty much gotten used to that...but Claire is more mobile now so I cannot just put her in the bouncer seat next to me and blog....ah, those were the days :)

Christmas 2009 was really nice! It was Claire's 1st Christmas and my mom and dad came out to celebrate with us. Mom and dad left almost a foot of snow in Richmond, only to land here in Colorado Springs with more snow coming down! We did have a white Christmas which was kind of nice :)

We started a new tradition this year of having a birthday cake for Jesus on Christmas day instead of the typical desserts. Owen had been calling Christmas Day "Jesus' Birthday party" for weeks all on his own so I thought I should embrace that! Neil had to work on all night Christmas Eve into Christmas Day and then again Christmas night into the morning of the 26th. That kind of threw a loop into a having a normal Christmas Day but it all worked out because we were able to open Santa presents that morning when he came home from work and then when he woke up that afternoon from sleeping, we ate dinner and opened more presents and then had dessert. So, our Christmas lasted all day instead of having everything over and done with in a matter of a couple of hours.

Claire was more interested in the wrapping paper than anything that was in the boxes. We had to constantly watch her because if we turned away for one minute, she was putting the paper in her mouth. She had a good time though!

The rest of mom and dad's visit was very nice as well. We took them to Denver to the Museum of Natural History and Science, took them to the Broadmoor and of course ate out a couple of times :)

Thank you mom and dad for making the trip out here and for making Claire's 1st Christmas even more special!
