Menzie Clan Adventures!: The start of 2010 in the Menzie household!

2010 has been busy already and we are only 22 days into it! I cannot complain though (other than being utterly exhausted at the end of everyday!), because we have been busy with a lot of fun things! After my parents left after coming out for Christmas, we took a few days to recover and rest and then we took off and took on 2010 with a vengeance! The kids and I have had TONS of get-togethers with friends, including reconnecting with the Whites! They moved here in the middle of December from Texas and Owen and Colin have really enjoyed playing together again! (we were with the Whites in California and Montana). It has been nice getting to boys together again.

I have been taking Owen to a different story time with my friend Mary Beth and her daughters and have been VERY happy with how it has been going. We used to drive 20 minutes to Peterson for story time but we were getting bored with it and thought we would try one of the public libraries and we are so glad we did! It lasts about 45 minutes and they have stories, puppet shows, and then a craft. Owen has really enjoyed it and has learned a lot.

Neil is busy with work but seems to still be enjoying it! He goes to training in Alabama in April/May and the kids, the dog and I will be driving separately and coming to Richmond! We cannot wait! It will be a nice long visit. It will be nice to be at home for Lydia's 2nd birthday! Hopefully snow will not cancel her party too :)

Owen has been really interested lately in doing "school projects" as he calls them. He has learned how to write the letter a,b,c,e, o, m, n,w, and x. He knows what "cat"and "ant" spell and he is getting good at writing his name. I think he is ready for preschool next fall! We usually work about 30-45 minutes each day that we can and he has really started to pay attention.

Claire is a MOVER! She is constantly crawling, pulling up on things or rolling around. She sits nicely in her highchair so far without wanting to get down until we are done with dinner. She started to dislike baths for a couple of weeks but seems to be over that. She splashes more than Owen does!! :) She is eating more and more table foods and her favorites are: bread, cheese, lunch meat, crackers, cheerios and fruits. I am still giving her baby food too to make sure she is getting everything she needs. She has two bottom teeth and loves to show them off! :) She is still a very happy girl and Owen enjoys playing with her more now that she can really get involved. I cannot believe that her 1st birthday is less than 2 months away!!
