Halloween 2008 was so much fun! We missed having daddy with us, but we were lucky enough to have Ellyn visiting with us for a few days! Owen was a fireman and he was such a cute one! Friday morning we went to Peterson Air Force Base library to a Halloween Party and they did such a good job! It was decorated so nicely and tons of goodies and candy to snack on..and get the kids an early sugar high! :) A librarian read a few stories and then they played games and got to get candy from a pinata. (spelling?). Then the kids got to just hang out and watch the Charlie Brown movie while the parents talked and ate candy :) They really did a good job and I look forward to going again next year with Owen!
Later that afternoon we went over to our friend, Mary Beth's, house and she cooked us a wonderful dinner and the kids got to play. Trick-or-treating was next and both Owen and Magadalene did so well! Owen was a little shy at the first house but as soon as the candy went into his pumpkin, he perked up and was ready to go onto the next houses! They both got tons of candy!!
We then packed up the kids and took them to a local church that was having a Harvest Festival. Wow! This church sure did know what it was doing! It was WONDERFUL!! There were games, balloons, face painting, music..and it was all free (except for food and drinks). After playing each game, they gave the kids TONS of candy and it was the good kind...Reeses, kit-kats, snickers, etc. We will definitely be putting this on our to- do every Halloween list :)
We had a lot of fun spending time with friends and now I have a ton of candy to eat, thanks to Owen not really having a sweet tooth!
My little Fire Chief :)
